Position: Sewing Machine Mechanic

Reports to: Owner

Job Type: Full Time

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform regular scheduled, as well as unscheduled, maintenance and repairs on domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and longarm quilting machines.
• Follow established processes for repairing machines and locating and ordering parts
• Setup sewing machine cabinets and longarm quilting frames and computer equipment
• Maintain good housekeeping standards for tool cribs and supplies and tools
• Assist other technicians as needed and work cooperatively with all co-workers
• Work effectively both independently and in teams
• Assume additional responsibilities; perform additional duties, and complete special projects as assigned
• Contribute to the profitability of the store
• Make sewing an enjoyable and trouble-free experience for our customers

Qualifications: 

• Will complete on-the-job training
• Must complete established company training (out of town travel required)
• Proven experience working with, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment
• Problem solving ability, process oriented
• Strong customer focus, internal and external
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills required, advanced computer skills a plus
• Previous sewing experience, a strong plus
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in understanding service manuals, parts catalogs, circuit diagrams, and operating and maintenance instructions.

Physical Demands: 

• Sit and stand on and off for 8 hours
• Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds
• Must be able to bend, lift, reach over head
• Able to visually see and read detailed drawings and manuals

• Semi-flexible schedule, 9am-6pm Tuesday - Saturday (part-time hours available)
